Eni Mediterranea Idrocarburi (Enimed) is a subsidiary of Eni SpA and, since 1 January 2005, it has been responsible for all Eni’s hydrocarbon exploration and production activities in Sicily.

Enimed produces around 9 million barrels of liquid and gaseous hydrocarbons annually from 14 production concessions, operating 80 active wells, 8 of which are offshore (4 on platforms and 4 subsea), connected to 8 oil and gas treatment facilities.

The main oil field production concessions are located in the Gela area, both onshore and offshore, and in Ragusa. The main gas fields are offshore, including the Argo and Cassiopea fields, which began production in 2024, followed by fields in the Gagliano and Bronte areas. Enimed employs approximately 300 staff at its Gela site and production facilities.

The company operates with advanced technologies aimed at improving technical process efficiency, safeguarding the environment and ensuring the health and safety of workers. Enimed is ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certified.
