Stogit is the Snam company that deals with the storage of natural gas, a strategic activity that contributes, in synergy with the other transport and regasification infrastructures of the Snam group, to the country’s energy security and to ensuring the continuity of gas supply to the system national energy. With 9 active sites, Stogit is the largest Italian operator and one of the main European ones.

In order to guarantee the continuity of supplies, Stogit storage represents, in the gas supply chain, a strategic activity which, through the reuse of exhausted natural gas deposits, located at 1,000-1,700 meters of depth, allows natural gas to be conserved maintaining the safety conditions in which nature has kept it for millions of years, maintaining the state of the places unchanged and favoring the protection of the environment.

Since 2002, Stogit has been certified UNI EN ISO 14001 for the environmental part and since 2012, OHSAS 18001, which later merged into the ISO 45001 certification, for the safety and health part, while since 2008 the natural gas measurement and accounting service has been certified ISO 9001 This latest certification has been extended to the entire company since 2020.
