Solvay Chimica Italia is part of the Belgian Solvay group, a multinational company active in the chemical sector with over 50 production sites worldwide, employing approximately 9,000 units.

In Italy, the Group operates in 3 Sites (Livorno, Massa and Rosignano Solvay), the National Headquater located in Bollate (Milan), employs over 700 workers. The main Italian markets are packaging (ex. glass), building industries, detergents, agriculture, metallurgy, textiles, chemistry, paper industry, human and animal nutrition, environment.

In Italy the first plant was built in 1912 in Rosignano Marittimo (LI), one of the most important of the Group where, Solvay Chimica Italia produces basic chemicals for many italian and foreign industries: sodium carbonate, sodium bicarbonate, calcium chloride, hydrogen peroxide, peracetic acid, environmental technologies.

Solvay Chimica Italia operates in the mining industry with the rock salt extraction in Volterra (Pisa) and Montecatini Val di Cecina (Pisa) since 1909, and with the limestone extraction in San Vincenzo (Livorno).
