Orion S.p.A. is a leading Italian manufacturer of high-performance industrial valves for the Oil & Gas, Power, Petrochemical and Process Industries. Headquartered in Trieste, the company was founded in the early 1950s and has built a unique legacy of technical and industrial expertise over the decades.

In 1996, Orion was acquired by the Farina family, which has been active for over 70 years in the production of flanges, pipes and fittings for the chemical and petrochemical industries. The acquisition generated important industrial and commercial synergies, further strengthening Orion’s production capabilities and market positioning.

Today, Orion operates across a 35,000-square-meter facility in the Trieste Industrial Park, employs approximately 210 people and generates annual revenues of around €150 million. Its product portfolio includes Gate, Globe, Check, Ball and Butterfly Valves, as well as Pressure Seal, Pipeline and API 6A valves, HIPPS systems and engineered solutions for cryogenic, high-pressure and severe-service applications. Orion manufactures valves ranging from 2 to 114 inches, with weights ranging from 20 kg to 120 tons.

The company operates globally through an extensive international network, supported by a manufacturing facility in Saudi Arabia and, since 2022, by a commercial office in Dubai, Orion FZCO, further strengthening its strategic presence in the Middle East.

Innovation is a key pillar of Orion’s strategy, with approximately 10% of turnover invested in Research & Development, largely through its own resources. The company is further expanding its capabilities through a dedicated Control Valves division, focused on advanced flow-control solutions, and a Nuclear division, dedicated to high-performance products for the nuclear energy sector.
